Minimal Makeup. Back To School

Its that dreaded time of year again where everyone has to go back to school. Booo. Anyway less about school more about makeup. I know most schools dont like their students to wear lots of makeup so here are my favourite products to achieve a minimal “no makeup” makeup look.

BB creams are a great way to add a light coverage without being massively noticeable on the skin, they usually contain spf aswell which is very handy when trying to save time in the morning. If you need more coverage for things like acne try using a foundation that has a natural/satin finish as this will look less like your wearing foundation. My favourite affordable BB cream is the Nivea tinted moisturising day cream which is £3.65 but often on offer for under £2. It is also sold pretty much everywhere, you can even get it in the supermarkets. For a pricier alternative I love the REN satin perfection BB cream. Two good foundations that have a natural satin finish are the loreal true match foundation and rimmel match perfection. Both are affordable and long wearing.

Concealer is great for making you look awake when your are probably still half asleep on the early mornings. The collection lasting perfection concealer is an amazing concealer that is full coverage but isnt cakey or thick and only costs about £4. If you are into highend beauty then the urban decay naked concealer is a great option.

Setting your makeup with powder, or atleast setting your concealer, will help keep your makeup on all day and prevent it from moving. If you have oily skin it might be a good idea to keep your powder in your school bag to reapply. My favourite powder of all time is the maybelline fit me powder, its affordable and isnt cakey or drying.
Now to add a bit of life back into the face using bronzer. The key to making this look natural is to use a light hand and dont have a super strong/harsh contour. A quick dusting around the edges of the face will really bring warm to any makeup look. My current favourite bronzer is the Soap and Glory solar bronzer.
If you naturally have a very full brow then you can skip this step but filling in your eyebrows can really change your whole look. Keep them looking soft and natural to make them school appropriate and the best way to achieve this is by using a pencil or powder. My two favourite pencils are the NYX micro brow pencil and the Benefit Goof Proof Pencil. If you prefer powder a great affordable option is the freedom duo eyebrow powder. This little compact may only cost £3 but it actually lasts all day which is pretty impressive. Freedom makeup is available at superdrug and online.

Lastly which is my personal favourite, mascara. A quick flick of mascara will really open up your eyes, making you look more awake. My favourite is the maybelline lash sensational. This is a great all round mascara especially because it doesnt clump.
I hope you found this post helpful or interesting and if your going back to school soon, good luck. What is your school makeup must have?
