High Street Makeup Haul

Sooo… I did a cheeky bit of online shopping and I thought I’d share with you what I got

Boots

Boots have just added nyx to their collection of brands-it’s definitly online but I’m not sure if it’s available in store. I’ve never tried anything from nyx before so I was excited to get my hands on a few things

1: nyx micro brow pencil-ash brown-£7
Oh my gosh, I am in love. Why you ask?  Well this looks so natural and the colour is perfect. They have quite a good colour selection which is always a plus. It’s got a dry waxy retractable pencil on one end and a spooley on the other.
*Tip is to draw a couple of lines on your hand first to warm the product up a little to help it glide on better

2: nyx soft matte lip cream-Prague-£5.50
Gorgeous plum fushia pink. I wore this for a good few hours before it faded.
*tip because this is a darker colour try using a lip liner to get a crisp edge

3: nyx soft matte lip cream-Cannes-£5.50
Lovely pinky slightly darker nude. Like Prague, staying power was really good.

Superdrug

Similar thing to boots, superdrug had a new brand added online, freedom London. I’ve heard it is a sister brand to make up revolution, on which I am a fan. So I thought I’d try a few things from them. I haven’t had the superdrug products long enough to try them so I don’t have much to say about them, but stay tuned to see if they make it into a future favourites or a disappointing products post.

1: freedom duo brow powder-medium brown-£4
Two shades of eyebrow powder.

2: freedom eyebrow pomade-medium brown-£5
As you can see in the picture, these two products are VERY different colours, the pomade is a lot darker in comparison with the powders. However the staying  power on the pomade is amazing, like 14 hours amazing.

3: freedom pro cream strobe and contour palette with brush-£10
One thing I will say about this is LOVE.THE.BRUSH. However from first impressions (and swatching on my hand) I don’t think this is going to be very good, which is always a disappointment but it seems to lack pigmentation and the formula is waxy and the bronzers are quite orange, but I will have to see what it is like on my face before I judge it too much. I will report back once I have given them all a good try.

I also picked up a few things from Maybelline and that included

1: Maybelline colour sensational matte lipstick -divine wine-£6.99
The colour sensational mattes range has only recently arrived in the uk so I was excited to try them and see if they are worth the hype, I know your thinking ‘well are they?’ And I can tell you that the one I have tried definitely is, I can’t speak for the other shades but divine wine is great. Stunning deep plum red wine colour, perfect for Autumn and it lasted REALLY well on my lips. I think that this is a great affordable option if your looking for a dark matte red that’s going to last a long time and suit a lot of skin tones.

2: Maybelline colour elixir- rose refined-£6.99

3: Maybelline colour elixir- blush essence-£6.99
I haven’t yet tried these so I don’t have any opinions on them yet, but like I said before I will report back, or if you have tried them, leave a comment below sharing your thoughts on them.
*note both of the colour elixir products were on sale for £3.50 so I don’t know if they are being discontinued or were just on a really good half price sale.

Hope you enjoyed seeing what I purchased recently, what is something you’ve brought recently? I’d love to hear so leave a comment below

Stay tuned, more posts in the near future
