May Favourites 2014

Here is my first favourites post

First up is the beauty products (which is mostly all of the things on this list)

1: benefit’s total moisture facial cream,

This is something that I only purchased at the start of this month and I’ve used it everyday since. I have normal/dry/sensitive skin so if you have oily skin this product my not suit you, as the texture is quite thick.

I put this on at night, because it’s a little on the thick side for the morning for my personal preference. It absorbs into the skin fairly quickly, and when I wake up in the morning my face feels SO soft!

Also this stuff smells great, it’s subtle and not overpowering but still has a scent.

This stuff is a little on the pricey side but I definitely think it was worth every penny.

2: Clean & Clear Sensitive Cleansing Lotion,

I’m not quite sure why this stuff is called cleansing lotion, because it’s a toner and nothing like the consistency of a lotion more like water.

Unlike the last product which was fairly new to me, I have been using the product for, I think everyday for the last 6 years. I have been though many bottles of this and I think I will continue to buy it until they stop selling it!

In contrast to the moisturiser this product is for acne prone skin, so it is oil free. I use this morning and night and I love that it leaves my skin feeling so clean and refreshed. Even after cleansing this gets rid of any leftover traces of make up or dirt from the day. I definitely think this helps to keep skin clear.

This product is only £2.99 so in my opinion it is a bargain.

3. Benefit’s The bronze of champions,

Again this is something new to me this month (I splashed out on some benefit things this month) I’ve never tried any benefit make up products before but I had high expectation and I wasn’t let down.

The reason I got this little set was because it enabled me to try quite a few products without have to buy the full size.

So in this box there is;
hoola lip gloss, watt’s up! Highlighter, cream shadow in bikini-tini, thanks a latte powder eyeshadow and finally the two I was most excited to try, they’re real! beyond mascara and last but not least hoola bronzing powder (it also has a little brush to apply it with).

I have been absolutely loving the hoola bronzer, the Matt pale colour is so build able but not muddy looking and looks very natural and I imagine it would suit also all complexions.I am very pale and most bronzer are to much for my fair skin but this is a dream. I will definetly be repurchasing the full size when I run out.

The sample sizes are fairly generous and compared with buying the products individually the prize is very good value.

4: the body shop pink grapefruit eau de toilette

Not going to lie the main reason i wanted to try this was because I like the taste of grape fruits so I thought I’d probably like the smell of this perfume.

I wasn’t wrong, this scent is very fresh and zingy and perfect for spring summer. I purchased mine about 6 months ago and I use it everyday and I’m only half way though this little bottle.

Compared with some eau de toilette this wasn’t to expensive.

5. Finally for my nails I have been loving bright colours, especially bright bright pinks. I have have also been loving glitter so here are a few current faves of mines.

left to right(china glaze: highlight of my summer, china glaze: petal to the metal, Barry m: diamond glitter, Barry m: grapefruit, china glaze: a lily bit, OPI: which is witch)

That’s all for my beauty faves and next I have 3 random things

1: the vamps

This month I have been really enjoying the vamps’ music, whenever I go to put music on I seem to lean towards their album, my two favorites have to be, can we dance and last night.

2: frozen.

Do I need to say anymore, the film, the soundtrack, just everything. Enough said!

3.bramble’s rhubarb and custard hard boiled sweets

Apologies that I can’t show you want they look like because someone… Oops… ate them all!

They taste soooo good!

They have a good flavour strength and last along time because they are hard. I’m not quite sure where you can purchase these though because I got mine at my local garden centre but I’m not sure where else sells them.

That’s all for this month, hope this post didn’t drag on too long, see you soon,

Lucy xx (sorry the photos are so dark but the lighting was natural and unpredictable)
